Kiuchi no Shizuku is a whisky produced by the Kiuchi Brewery, distilled from their Hitachino Nest White Ale, a Belgian-style beer. The production involves steeping botanicals, a process akin to gin making. The initial distillation reaches 60 proof, followed by a month in oak barrels with coriander, hops, and orange peel. Additional unflavored distillate is incorporated before a second distillation raises the proof to 100. After six months of maturation in oak, the whisky is filtered and bottled at 43% ABV.

Lychee, orange zest, coriander, bubblegum, and a hint of whiskey. It's extremely sweet, with sugar being the primary flavor, although there are also notes of hops and lychee. It has a syrupy yet semi-dry texture. This is quite unusual and could be interesting, but it's excessively sweet, masking everything else with sugar. Skip it.
A delightful and quirky whiskey. As pure as anything from Japan. My initial impression was that it's like the child of whiskey and lemonade. A lovely little drink to boost your spirits.
Wild aroma and taste. At first, it seemed almost like Tequila but became more enjoyable as I drank more.
I wouldn't repeat this experience. Strange herbal aroma and flavor. Far too similar to gin.
