Layla Leonard 4.0

Nose: Typical of this brand. Intense sweetness, a faint hint of BBQ smoke (from peated bourbon in the blend), date syrup, grain, light coffee, and a touch of spice from the high rye bourbon component. Palate: Gentle peat smoke mingles with baking spice. Its syrupy texture is overtaken by rich grain and a subtle note of tobacco. Adding a dash of water enhances sweetness but offers no new dimensions. Finish: The alcohol strength just begins to register then fades into cinnamon and some smoke. This is the shortest finish I've experienced from this brand's products. A dash of water softens the alcohol and introduces notes of molasses cookie and candied ginger.
