Ah, bourbon. If you were to describe bourbon to someone unfamiliar with it, a single whiff of this new release would convey everything. Woody, sweet, nutty, spicy, and somehow capturing the Kentucky summer heat. The initial taste is exceptionally smooth for a whiskey nearing cask strength, with only a slight burn. The flavors are light and airy, with the oak and its char dominating. The finish is very long, with a tannic conclusion. An excellent sipper, especially over a large ice cube, this latest JSC release is impressive.
