Yes, it's definitively sherry, but the herbal infusion is what drew me back for more. The dram continues to offer more; the herbal base then gives way to notes of plums, nuts, and spice. I've never before enjoyed a whiskey whose flavor profile evolves over time, revealing new notes, tones, and characteristics. On the first sip, I was tasting a full-bodied, sweet sherry cask whiskey; now, after several sips, I'm enjoying a wonderfully spicy and herbal whiskey with a fruit and nut foundation.
