India Brandt 4.3

A magnificent bottling from Kavalan Distillery Select No. 2, vastly superior to the initial offering. An elegant, fruit-forward, and perfumed single malt. Presented at 40% alcohol by volume, with a burnished gold hue. Its aroma is highly inviting. It begins with a lulo fruit scent (referred to as Naranjilla in my homeland, lulo is a citrus fruit); followed by acetone and an earthy character. After an initial taste, the scent transformed to damp notes reminiscent of cork or an old study, then unleashed a citrus burst, much like inhaling a freshly sliced orange. On the tongue, it's very fruity yet sharp. Once again, this lulo fruit taste is exceptionally pleasing. It's quite oily, with tart prunes making an appearance. The lingering finish largely followed the same pattern. A metallic, sulfurous note. Very citrusy, with a distinct orange juice essence. In summary, this is not an excessively priced whisky and is truly a delightful malt. I'd happily consume it; you won't regret acquiring a bottle. My rating for this is 87 out of 100.

Lorena Bergeron 4.3

Amber color. The aroma is a bit perfumed, with pastry dough, creamy notes, paint, tropical fruits, citrus, baked goods, chocolate, low alcohol content, medium aroma intensity. The taste is sweet, with citrus notes, berry notes, spicy tones, and a drying tannic finish. Long finish with fruity notes and light paint undertones. 85/100 Bottled: 10.12.2023

Kyler Sheldon 3.8

The aroma is sweet, with some kind of fruit. It starts with a rich, possibly plum-like flavor, then shifts to a savory, perhaps floral or herbal taste. The finish is smooth with minimal heat. This is a very intriguing whiskey due to its transition from sweet and fruity on the palate to a savory finish, making it stand out and worth another try.

The nose has caramel, lavender, and herbs. The flavor is lightly smoky and medicinal. It causes a deep burn in the chest.
