About this bottle

This limited edition was produced for the distillery's yearly whisky festival, which coincides with Fèis Ìle (Islay Fest). The single malt is a blend of whiskies that matured in first-fill American oak bourbon casks, ex-bourbon casks, and Graham's Ruby Port pipes. It is bottled at cask strength and is non chill-filtered. This is the inaugural limited release supervised by new Distillery Manager Graham Logan, who succeeded Willie Cochrane after his retirement in September 2016.

Carol Isaac 4.0

Excellent and layered, yet also peculiar. It requires patience for the aroma to develop, but the reward is significant. The port's impact is present, alongside notes of walnut, and subtle fruitiness. Fantastic. The taste reveals further traces of peach and oak, with a texture reminiscent of syrup. It harmonizes well, although I must confess I'm unaccustomed to such pronounced nut flavors in a single malt. Definitely recommended for exploration!

No dilution necessary even at full strength. I'm not usually a fan of Jura, but this is a delightful pour! Nose: Raisins, malted barley, sherry sweetness, oak Taste: Consistent with the nose. Raisin, fig, and malt.

Aroma: sweeter honey scent, hints of bananas and vanilla. Palate: tastes of vanilla, black pepper, and honey. Finish: long-lasting, leaving pepper and wood notes on the palate.
