Jim Beam Maple

Too sweet on its own, but when mixed with homemade egg nog, it starts to become a guilty pleasure. It's unfortunate I experimented with this after Beam discontinued it in favor of Peach or Apple. I just keep it separate from my "serious" bourbons.

First off, I'm a big fan of maple. I'll happily drink anything maple. However, this whiskey is just excessively sweet. It's drinkable but too sweet; much better suited for shots and mixing than drinking straight. I'm going to try a shot with some apple cider.

Unlike the maple-finished Crown Royal, this beverage loses its maple character after about six months once opened. It can create interesting mixed drinks if consumed promptly.

Sweet like syrup, but less overwhelming than the vanilla or apple versions. It's my secret treat flavored whiskey for when I'm out fishing. Directly from the mini bar. No need for a proper glass.

Maple is prominent initially, but it's excessively sweet. It's tasty, but the maple is followed by a below-average Jim Beam bourbon finish. It's fairly smooth overall, but has a cheap taste.

Not really my preference, but this tastes like a standard bourbon with a strong maple flavor. The maple flavor isn't as artificial as I anticipated.
