Jim Beam Apple

I'm making a genuine effort to appreciate bourbon because my husband enjoys it so much, but most varieties I've sampled taste remarkably like gasoline or lighter fluid, as I'd imagined. Of course, I tried it with ice. I usually prefer gin or vodka, but I took a chance on it in a mixed drink at a restaurant, and I must say, I truly liked it! I was quite surprised, as I've sampled many different bourbons – enough to differentiate between rye and wheat variations (My husband finds it amusing to have me conduct taste comparisons to identify their differences. They still strike me as tasting like rye or wheat-flavored turpentine, though... I'm not sure why). However, I've now tried a couple of mixed drinks and also just on the rocks, and I'm still surprisingly happy with the flavor. I can't tell if this means I have sophisticated tastes or if it simply proves I can only enjoy something with a little umbrella in it. I'm likely committing some sort of bourbon heresy, but I admit I like it, and so be it. I might not know what's considered good, but I know what I enjoy. And I enjoy this.

FINISH/ Green Apples, Sweet, Smoothness, with the slightest hint of spice. 70 proof This is their JB mixed with an Apple 🍎 Liqueur... (it should be green apple, by the way). This is a fantastic drink for any occasion... my Dad (JMM) would question what happened to his regular JB and ask why I drink that? LOL. MAKING MY OWN WHISKEY BLEND!.5 oz of Southern Comfort Caramel 1.25 oz of JB Apple 🍎 (again, this should be green, but I'll overlook it). 2 oz of Gentleman Jack = DELICIOUS Consume your beverage responsibly and with moderation! CHEERS!!!

Part of a sample from a holiday pack. Fourth of the twelve. A brief review. Apple juice, green apple Jolly Rancher, Midori liqueur. The aromas match the apple as advertised. The initial taste is like liquid green apple Jolly Rancher with a hint of white pepper and cherry cough syrup. Cherry cough syrup lingers in the finish with drying oak tannins. Up to this point, this was the most acceptable of the samples. A spicy liquid jolly rancher definitely made for mixing, not for serious sipping. [Tasted: 12/9/20]

My goodness, this is awful. I feel a stomach ache just from a single sip. The nose is far too aggressive. We get it... it's an apple-flavored whiskey. The taste is incredibly syrupy. It's so concentrated and sweet, and there's also a musty note present. I couldn't bring myself to take another sip. I understand this is a flavored whiskey and not to my taste, but wow... it's bad. If you desire a superior version that is actually a complex whiskey, consider Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey.

The aroma presents honey and apples, but encased in a waxy layer that makes it less appealing than inviting. The taste is like what would occur if NyQuil made an apple flavor. Sugary, thick apples and honey. No surprises here. There's no lingering finish, but were you anticipating one? Shame on you. Whatever you do, don't try this neat, or you'll surely develop diabetes. Use plenty of ice in a rocks glass, allow it to dilute slightly, and it will pass as a summer beverage.

What is this? A company should be ashamed of this product. It should not be associated with whiskey in any way. This Jolly Rancher liqueur is sickeningly sweet and reminds me of cough syrup. The brands should stop this practice and stick to bourbon. Bourbon is great and doesn't need to be doctored with candy flavors to be enjoyable. If people need these childish flavors to appreciate alcohol, they should probably stick to soda.
