This single malt, from an undisclosed Islay distillery, was bottled by The Exclusive Malts. It was distilled on June 12, 2008, and matured for 9 years in a single refill hogshead. The bottling is un-chillfiltered and presented at 58.9% ABV cask strength, with 289 bottles made.

I'm quite certain this is Caol Ila. It possesses that medium-strong peat and oily quality I recall from Caol Ila 12. Adding water is beneficial as it's quite potent. There's an underlying sweetness beneath the peat that makes me want to keep drinking it. I hope there's some remaining when I return.
