Ugh, here we go. I disliked the 18 year old, so the saying about 'lowering expectations' didn't even work here. If you enjoy musty, bitter acetone, this distillery is perfect for you. While I generally appreciate funky spirits, this distillery pushed my limits. It's awful, but some people seem to like it. To make matters worse, I drank it thinking I had to finish my tasting, only to realize I'd endured this before. Checking my notes confirmed it was the 18 year old. It goes by Loch Lomond, Inchmurrin, or sometimes both – that's my justification. Even worse, I have a 12 year sample waiting, and its organic nature implies it must be good, which makes me want to vomit. As a famous person once said, 'Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.' I won't be fooled a third time, but I'll likely endure it to post a review and give others a heads-up, because I'm that kind of decent person. It gets a 1.75 because you have to celebrate a 21st birthday, even if the spirit is trash.
