This particular single barrel expression is quite excellent. It's exceptionally smooth while also possessing a spicy character. The aroma is classic bourbon through and through, featuring notes of caramel, vanilla, sweet grains, and a touch of toasted barrel char (rated 10/10). The initial taste is smooth with a hint of sweetness, but it concludes with subtle spicy, oaky, and perhaps some tobacco undertones (rated 9.2/10). At 123.2 proof, it drinks below its stated alcohol content and leaves a fairly lingering finish. It was aged for 8 years and made with a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, 5% wheat, and 5% malted barley. It is 100% grain-to-glass.
