Diann Loyd 4.0

The typical speyside aromas amplified significantly, with a spicier and fruitier finish due to its over 60% ABV. This is the only speyside scotch I've sampled with such a high proof, and I adored it. I regret not having a glencairn to fully appreciate this magnificent scotch. The palate was full-bodied, sweet yet spicy, with honeysuckle, plums, vanilla, and pepper. The initial 48% ABV bottling is listed at $119. I sampled this at a gathering, so I'm uncertain about the bottling of the second release.

This bottle is 60.6% ABV, batch unknown. Nose: Sweet, with notes of lemon candy, malt, ginger, melon, tart citrus, oak, sandalwood, and cinnamon. Palate: Viscous and semi-sweet, with malt, honey, citrus, barrel spices, marzipan, marshmallow, and hints of cherry and licorice. Finish: Medium length, subtle, with malt, fruit, and spice notes, plus a touch of butterscotch. This is a tasty, complex, and thoroughly enjoyable whiskey.

Kaiden Altman 4.5

Nose: Perfumed, stone fruit, classic Speyside character. Palate: Blossoms, orchard fruit, vibrant. A whisper of smoke and peat, incredibly delicate. The elevated alcohol content gives it punch. Far more intricate than the 12-year-old expression. Finish: Lingering and comforting. The complex notes find their place. Among the finest Speysides I've encountered. As someone who favors Islay whiskies, the subtle smoke and peat are a welcome addition.

Mohammed Sparks 3.3

Nose - Sweet, Taste - cinnamon sticks, shortbread, more wood and barrel influence than most from this brand, though it's not a label I frequently try. Finish - Fades to just a hint of spice and warmth. Doesn't impress me much.
