Receiving a complimentary whisky is always a treat. Especially a distillery-exclusive single cask strength from Glenlivet. This particular bottle is a 12-year-old single cask at 58% ABV, from a first-fill butt, originating from barrel # 238202. On the nose, expect a chocolate bar, hazelnut, dark blackberries, and dried purple fruits. Incredible red fruits are also present. On the palate, red and purple fruits mingle with chocolate. The aftertaste is dominated by chocolate and ginger, with a touch of saltiness. Overall, a remarkably balanced, fruity, and chocolatey pour, earning a strong 92 out of 100 in my assessment.
