It has a remarkably dark color, achieved without any additives. Allow it to breathe for the sherry characteristics to emerge. Once it opens up, it releases aromas of rum, cognac, and sour cherries, with a touch of oak – a complex bouquet! Old barrels are clearly suggested in the background. On the palate, it's more reserved but presents as a mature whiskey with a distinct barrel influence. Dry tasting reveals quite dry oak.

(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Whisky Tasting, July 9th, 2021). Nose: Quince jam, orange, chocolate, baking spice/nutmeg, raisins, pears, leather, tobacco. Palate: Christmas cake, chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, blackberries, creamy/buttery. Finish: Medium finish with leather, Armagnac, old wood/oak, PX sherry, dried fruit, dark chocolate. A slight bitterness in the aftertaste. This is a warming and delicious sherry-matured whisky. It has lovely layers of flavor throughout, though it leans heavily on sherry/chocolate notes. Fantastic! It ranked highest out of the six drams tasted by those present. I chose this as my favorite of the evening.
Fantastic! Christmas cake, dark fruits, milk chocolate, caramel, dried apricots, a classic whisky character in the background, cherry, well-executed, flavorful, deceptively strong.
Not very intricate, with notes of grain and nuts, and a forgettable finish.
