Discovering an unfamiliar, open bottle of Glenfarclas "100 proof" at a new venue, available by the glass, is a genuine delight. This particular bottling, a 15-year-old Cask Strength at 57.1%, boasted an attractive label. The aroma offered notes of BBQ sauce, sweet prunes, and meat spices, reminiscent of a Sunday barbecue with Welsh grape juice. The initial taste echoed the Welsh grape juice, followed by red fruits. It then transformed into a salty wave that was intensely tongue-tingling, with grape notes reappearing. The finish was robust and rustic, featuring hay, tobacco, and a prolonged spicy conclusion, rounded out by chocolate cream. This was an exceptional find; the label hinted at its rarity, and it's always rewarding when such limited releases deliver a superb experience. I award it 92/100.
