Glendronach 10yo, Vintage 2011, Hart Brothers

Have you ever heard the saying, 'You'll always find a perfect dram in a Glendronach Cask Strength bottling, no matter what'? You might not have, as I just created it. Fortunately for my new role as a 'Phrase-maker,' my statement holds true. Hart Brothers, an independent bottler known for its exceptional and aged releases, has bottled this 10-year-old Glendronach. It's a single sherry butt expression at a very pleasant 56.5% ABV, vintage 2011. The nose begins with delightful coffee, dark chocolate, and Tiramisu notes. It then reveals a 'Sharpie' marker scent, followed by wedding cake, fruitcake, and red fruits like cherries and grapes, with figs in chocolate and quince. This is incredibly complex. The palate is a marvelous sherry experience: cotton candy, dates, and blackberry jam. There are also figs, raisins, and faint sulfuric notes, along with Bubbletape gum. A second taste brought out white chocolate. The initial sip was creamy, while the second was oily! This is the first spirit I've tasted that changed its body from one sip to the next. Amazing. The finish is potent and echoes the nose and palate, with vanilla powder, raisins, figs, pepper, and a 'Crazy Dips' lollipop flavor. Overall, this is pure perfection. Everyone at my tasting event adored it and immediately started looking for it online. To be honest, I had never tried a Hart Brothers whisky before, and now I'm eager to find more of their bottles. My score is a perfect 100 out of 100.
