Nose: Fruit from the orchard, sweetness, spices for baking, ginger. Palate: Sweetness, chocolate cherries, dates, dried figs, baking spices. Finish: A lengthy conclusion. Nutty, toasted oak, dates, raisins. A hint of slightly scorched millionaire's shortbread. This is exceptional! Rich, substantial, and full-bodied. Sweet, dried fruit and an intriguing, subtly charred note (in a positive way!). The Sauternes adds a touch of sweet fruitiness. Dangerously easy to drink considering the 58.2% ABV. It ranked second among the six samples, receiving 15% of the vote for the evening's favorite. 77% of attendees indicated they enjoyed the whisky.
