Demetria Ferguson 4.0

(Event: Virtual Whisky Tasting, February 25, 2022). Nose: Caramel, fig biscuits, raisin toast, oak, vanilla, sherry fruit, holiday spices, pepper, and cinnamon. Palate: Sherry! Rich mouthfeel. Sultanas, raisins, honey, maple syrup, dried figs. Nutty, almonds, and oak. Dark chocolate. Finish: Medium-long. Sherry, raisins, cinnamon, oak, cocoa, dark chocolate, dried figs. Malty and oaky aftertaste. From an ex-Oloroso butt, cask 900371, one of 598 bottles. Coats the mouth, unctuous, and luxurious. This is less a whisky and more a sherry delivery system! Tastes like Christmas cake, dried fruit, and oak. Slightly numbing on the aftertaste. This is an excellent, easy-drinking sherried dram - very dangerous at 62.9%. A total sherry bomb - fantastic! Ranked first out of six samples, with 35% of the vote for favorite of the night. 87% of attendees enjoyed it. This received my vote for favorite.
