Glen Ord 20 Year Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whiskey Co.)

A rich, 20-year-old single malt from the Highlands bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. It begins aromatically with notes of pepper, earthiness, dried fruit, honey, oak, and dampness & bitterness; a rich development adds notes of beer & milk chocolate; leading to a balanced, medium-length finish with notes of sweet candy, sherry, apple, lemon peel & vanilla. December 2017 / June 2018 / September 2022

Began with a lower proof grain, then a noticeable step up with Balmenach, and now this. A truly excellent pour, beautifully balanced with notes of vanilla biscuit and a lingering vanilla pudding aftertaste. Rated 4.25.
