This is remarkably fantastic stuff. The nose is full of rich fruits, a touch of orange peel, and a spicy character (not quite pepper, and definitely not anise... perhaps coriander?). It has notes of raisins and honey. The flavors include fig syrup with vanilla and raspberries, cinnamon, and floral elements. Oak isn't strongly apparent. The finish has notes of pastries, citrus, and perhaps strawberries, reminiscent of an orange and berry marmalade danish. It has a nice, coating texture. A big profile without being overwhelming. You'd be surprised by its 53.6% ABV if you didn't know it. Delicious.
