The Glen Garioch distillery, established in 1797 by brothers John and Alexander Manson, is situated in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This vintage bottling matured exclusively in French Bordeaux wine casks, having been distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2014 at 48% ABV. There were 6,000 bottles released, without chill filtration.

The influence of red wine is quite evident. I taste red berries, toffee, and a strong alcohol presence. I'm uncertain about the overall balance. I can't provide a definitive rating because the sample from the online retailer was damaged and had leaked, so it likely doesn't represent the spirit accurately. Nevertheless, it's not a bad drink.
A beautiful nose (milk chocolate) and a very complex, excellent palate. The red berry finish is spicy and dry, with the dryness becoming too dominant. Score breakdown: 23-23-22-21 = 89
