Battlehill is a brand of single malt and single grain whiskies, independently bottled by the Duncan Taylor company. They offer a wide variety, and some are sourced from very popular distilleries. This is the case with this 11-year-old GlenGarioch; bottled at 52% ABV, with only 1200 bottles produced. On the palate, I detect notes of pineapple, imperceptible sugar, cheap soap, and some spices. It smells like air freshener. On the palate, pineapple reappeared, along with meringue candies and milk with sugar. Bananas. The aftertaste is dominated by spices and a very small banana variety called "Orito" in Ecuador. Overall, this was a very average dram, quite enjoyable but not particularly special. It scores enough points to pass, but it might be a bit too simple, and some may find it slightly dull. My score for it is a fair 80 out of 100.
