Glen Deveron 20 Year

A very good whisky, quite balanced without being overly special. Bottled at 40% ABV with an amontillado sherry color. On the nose: coffee, brown sugar, chocolate, toasted caramel, sherry notes, and grapes. On the palate: it is hot but not excessively so, with notes of spice, lots of oak, ginger, and pepper, finishing with a short to medium licorice note. Overall, I rate this one an 88 out of 100; it's nice but a little uninteresting on the palate.

Glen Deveron 20 year old – Royal Burgh Collection Color – Amber Nose before adding water – Raisins, stewed fruit, grapes. Wine. Subtle. Some cereal. Palate before adding water – light. Watery almost. More raisin, light fruit flavor. Nose after adding water – opens up quite a bit, a bit more character. Red fruits, strawberries, raspberries? Palate after adding water – still light, cereal, fruity. Finish – short. Kind of disappointing for a 20 year old.

The aroma (vanilla) and taste (fruity) are quite good, considering the cost. However, the ending lacks depth and is somewhat harsh. For a 20-year-old at this price, it's a decent buy, but don't set your expectations too high due to its age.

Dark berries and toffee. It's quite velvety with a touch of heat. This is the most aged spirit I've had up to this point, and it could perhaps be a bit more intricate. Nevertheless, it remains my current go-to single malt.

It's remarkably smooth, with a flavor profile that's too simple. While it's quite good, the taste lacks depth. I anticipated more from a 20-year-old, but the price made it worthwhile.

Aroma of fruit and butterscotch, but the taste was disappointing with some grain notes, not matching the rich color and scent.
