Garrison Brothers 94 Proof Single Barrel Select [Barrel # 16753 / Bottle # 101 / 47% ABV / Distilled & Barreled in 2019] is an intense Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey made with corn from Southwest Texas, aged in American white oak barrels for 3 years. It has an aromatic beginning with notes of grain, wood, earth & spices; while a bold middle adds notes of grains, vanilla, nutmeg, butterscotch & hay; leading to a woody finish of medium length with notes of new oak, baseball glove & clay. The first time I tasted this bottle (neck pour) I thought it tasted like motor oil. However, after a little time on the shelf, it has become one of my favorite bottles. Robust flavors of Vanilla and Clove. Still a little oily, but that is now part of the character. I absolutely love it. I bought a backup for me and a bottle for a close friend.

Gino Fabian 4.5

This is quite something. It’s intense in alcohol, but packed with so much taste and depth, it cuts right through the proof. Cherry, oak, spice, hide, and grain. A viscous body, deep flavor. Amazing. Among the top high proof bourbons I’ve encountered.

Corn, corn, corn. Sweet corn on the nose. Super smooth palate with sweet corn and vanilla. Impressed by the lack of burn, bite, or heat for the proof. And the flavor for the age (3 years). Pricey but worth it.

Aroma Strong Texas aroma upfront. Vanilla, nutty, and caramel Taste Slightly tart with peanuts and vanilla, an addictive taste. Makes you want another sip. Great stuff. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Definitely a favorite. Great body and flavor upfront with a lingering finish that works very well. I bought another bottle a week later.
