About this bottle

Guadalupe, a limited edition release from Garrison Brothers, is named in honor of one of Texas's major rivers. This 2022 bottling was produced using 30-gallon bourbon barrels filled in 2016. Following four years of maturation in white American oak, the bourbon was transferred to tawny port casks for an additional two years. The distillery planned to release 1002 bottles initially on July 23, 2022, followed by an additional 4900 bottles distributed nationwide starting August 1, 2022.

Brody Paz 4.0

My initial taste was not as good as I had hoped. I suggest opening the bottle to let it breathe, then sealing it and waiting a day (several minutes in the glass wasn't enough, apparently). My second attempt revealed an amazing aroma. It truly is a dessert in a bottle. The flavor profile is excellent all the way to the finish. It's certainly expensive, but it offers a taste I haven't encountered elsewhere, so I believe it's worth the cost. Another success for Garrison Brothers as a premium choice. When this bottle is empty, I will likely want the next batch.

Dara Brumfield 4.3

It has a similar taste to Cream of Kentucky and the cask strength single barrel from Garrison Brothers, but with a sweet finish. I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of Garrison Brothers; it's the best Texas whiskey I've tried.

Amos Ferris 4.5

Quite good. Every one I try gets better. This was very smooth and easy to drink.

Karson Nevarez 2.0

A little harsh on the tongue, excessively oaky and it's not a positive characteristic. The port impact leaves a sweet conclusion.

Esteban Earley 4.3

Rich, sweet, and like caramel popcorn
