This marks my fourth Foursquare variation, and I'm certain it won't be my last. Like many, I was once under the impression that rum was primarily for mixing, influenced by a certain well-known brand. However, producers such as 4S and Penny Blue have completely altered my perspective. As this is the most aged of my current selections, I'm eager to see if it meets expectations. The aroma is sweet, akin to vanilla syrup, though at these elevated proofs, I detect a notable amount of alcohol. The initial taste confirms this is not a casual rum. At 122 proof, it drinks like a robust whiskey. Honey, caramel, and subtle maple syrup notes blend with the warmth, coating the palate. As the heat recedes, a lingering, smoldering sweetness remains indefinitely. In summary, while perhaps not the absolute best Foursquare I've sampled, it is undeniably a very good one. This proof level may be approaching the upper limit for enjoyment in a rum. A few drops of water would likely be beneficial for many, but regardless, Foursquare has delivered another success.

The team has succeeded once more. The aroma is a balanced mix of rich oak, overripe fruit, delightful holiday pastries, and a pleasant high-proof alcohol burn. The palate begins with a brief touch of the fruity, sweet character upfront, which quickly gives way to a sweet, woody flavor contrasted by sharp black pepper. The finish is remarkably long, with an incredible tingle, warmth, and banana bread notes on the tongue.
Aroma of vanilla, cherry, toffee, pineapple, and a faint scent of a birch campfire. Absolutely fantastic. A light spice, abundant oak, with some apple and cherry notes initially. The finish is slightly hot and dry, but overall, it's remarkably rich. I adore this!
Sulphur on the nose? Excellent Foursquare rum goodness.
