Aroma: a rich caramel, some charred orange, and heavy barrel char. The alcohol was nearly undetectable after 20 minutes of resting. Taste: an initial burst of sweetness, caramelized sugars, and a cinnamon roll. Followed by damp oak and a grassy note reminiscent of a high-rye bourbon. A pleasant level of spice as well. Truly well-balanced and drinks smoother than its proof suggests. Finish: a long finish with baking spices, orange zest, cinnamon rolls, and the barrel's influence lingering. Overall: incredibly delicious. A fantastic balance of sweet and spicy with just the right amount of oak influence.

Aroma: robust, smooth oak, spiced cherry, rye spice. Taste: immediate cherry and rye spice, a richness of oak, not as sweet as the smell suggests. A wonderful journey of flavors, evolving and engaging different parts of your mouth and tongue. Finish: a long and pleasing finish, with complex, competing notes of caramel oak and rye with black pepper.
Wonderful stuff, a bit warm at 124 proof, but it does well with water.
Improves with exposure to air and is better than batch 006 17yr.
