Fettercairn 2009/11Y Valinch&Mallet

My final day from the Whisky calendar! It was a good year. I was anticipating this one, but it seems I'll be let down... The aroma is not appealing at all. Dusty, like an old container, alcoholic, mineral, rocks. With a few drops of water, it improves slightly, revealing some vanilla, yellow flowers, and honey. The taste is different, sweet, with jam, caramel... wow, chocolate cream, nuts, butternut. Okay, the taste is excellent; I wish the aroma matched it. Nose: 3 Palate: 5 Therefore, a 4 for this one.

Independent bottling (Ainneamh) "Boba-Fettercairn" Single Cask 2009-2018 46% Green pear on the nose. Initial sharpness. Abundant buttercream complements the pears. A pleasant, industrial funk similar to AnCnoc. Warming. A drying finish with notes of baguette crust. Delightful.
