This expression starts with mildly astringent citrus and light smoke on the nose, followed by dark chocolate-covered figs, light seaside minerality, and lightly grilled creamy orchard fruits, finishing with mild baking spices and a medium ethanol burn. The palate has a medium mouthfeel, beginning mildly sour before becoming ashy bitter, then fading to mocha, mild smoke, seaside minerality, and creamy yet slightly sour tropical fruit, with mild baking spices and a medium ethanol burn. The finish is medium in length, starting with cocoa powder dusted figs, fading to creamy tropical fruits and a light earthy bitterness. While this was enjoyed more during a previous tasting, an astringency currently holds it back from reaching the heights of other similar offerings. It remains a very enjoyable dram, likely to be rated higher by others as the writer is more sensitive to sour flavors.

Nose: dark chocolate and raspberry, with oak notes. A slightly sharp ethanol presence. Taste: Peppery and hot initially. A tingling sensation on the tip of the tongue. Berries, red apple, cloves, followed by chocolate. Perhaps a hint of coffee. Some vanilla cream is also present. Empty glass smells like a candied mushroom. I consistently enjoy Bunna, and this one is no exception. Thanks to a friend for the sample!
