Edradour Vintage 2012, Kirsh 8 year old.

When you come across an Edradour, you should grab it. I personally adore this distillery, and I believe their spirit takes well to wine cask finishes. This 8-year-old Edradour, however, was sourced from 6 different barrels: 3 former bourbon casks and 3 sherry butts. This was a limited release for the Kirsh store in Germany. Bottled at 48.1% ABV, it has a deep red color. The aroma is simply perfect, offering the most precise red wine notes imaginable, along with watermelon, floral hints, and red apples. It also has blackberry marmalade, blueberries, melon, papaya, vanilla, and toffee. Red berries are present. Incredible. The palate maintains the excellent qualities, with red fruits, Christmas cake, antioxidant-rich juice, plums, beetroot, chocolate, and dulce de leche. The aftertaste is still very good, though slightly brief. It includes strawberries, figs, and mango. There's a touch of earthiness, giving a sensation that tingles your spine – quite an experience. Overall, this is a very sophisticated, elegant, and delicious spirit. Serving this on a date would impress anyone. It has a good strength (48.1% ABV) but without any noticeable alcohol burn. An amazing single malt, scoring 97 out of 100. Cheers!
