Edradour Sherry Cask Matured Natural Cask Strength

My initial Edradour experience was a sherry bomb at 56.1% ABV, pure sherry goodness. An amazing dram from 'Scotland's little gem'. This distillery only has two employees, and they've certainly done excellent work with this expression. On the nose: An immediate sherry bomb. Glazed pork. A smoky note is present. Hints of Christmas stuffing and blackberry preserves. On the palate, it's exquisite. Dry sherry notes, very sweet. Again, glazed pork. Dry sherry. Blackberries. Astringent and powerful. The finish is full of cinnamon and ginger. A great experience. Overall, this is a 99 out of 100. I loved it; I have an unopened 10-year-old bottle at 59.9% ABV in my collection, and I now value it even more. Get this one.

2010 aged 12 years, cask #416, 57.2% Nose: caramel, chocolate, fig, musty grapes Palate: big punch of dark chocolate, malty oily backbone Finish: medium length, plums, caramel, shortbread This is the Edradour I know and love. Not for the faint of heart. The only minor drawback is the finish length.

It smells floral, with hints of honey and mild raisin undertones. The palate is warm and medium-bodied, featuring a delightful mix of peaches, figs, pears, and nutmeg. The finish is smooth, fruit-forward, and quite prolonged. All in all, a sophisticated and enjoyable drink.

The aroma is both honeyed and floral, with the palate rich in pears and ginger. It's enjoyable, though the finish leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Quite literally. It's acceptable.

Improved from a 4 to a 4.25 with a few drops of water. Initially a bit sharp, but the peat and intense sherry flavor that persists is fantastic.

Peaches from a can! Very sweet but not overwhelming. I wish I had my own bottle.
