Edgefield Monkey Puzzle

I picked this up at McMenamins Edgefield, wanting to sample their offerings and the small bottle size made it an easy decision. I didn't check the flavor notes until after tasting, and the hop presence was quite noticeable. I really enjoyed it due to its distinct blend of sweet, bitter, and slightly sour notes. I've been seeking that particular profile ever since tasting it from Corsair. While I believe Corsair was superior, this was genuinely pleasant and distinctive.

A light sweet scent, with detectable hops. It also has a tangy sweetness, similar to tequila. Numerous flavors are present, including vanilla and baking spices, followed by a citrusy, hoppy finish.

Tastes of fermented apple and hops, with rough honey cinnamon notes; I am not keen on the overall impression.

It had notes of honey and hops, but was rough. Good thing it was a small bottle, because this was awful.

This is no longer available, but it was good when I could get it.

A powerful citrus scent, but it doesn't come through in the flavor; it's heavy on honey and caramel.
