About this bottle

Since its debut in 2000 as part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, Eagle Rare has maintained its association with the series. Similar to George T. Stagg, Eagle Rare utilizes a bourbon recipe with minimal rye content. The Fall 2022 bottling was produced in spring 2005 and aged in Warehouses H, K, and L. It was bottled at 101 proof, carrying a suggested retail price of $99.

Aroma - Rich dark cherries, oak, a subtle earthy mustiness. Tobacco/cigar box and milk chocolate. This aroma is astonishingly good! Taste - Those dark cherries and oaky earthiness come through on the palate. Milk chocolate with a hint of mushroom appears mid-palate. The sip is rich, slightly oily, and substantial. Flavors arrive in stages. This is a decadent, delicious whiskey. Finish - The finish is long and warming. The age is evident as the oak becomes slightly dry. It concludes with that wonderful tobacco/cigar box note. Overall - This is the finest whiskey I've encountered this year. The flavor layers are exquisitely crafted. Everything is in perfect balance.

Nose: Baked apples, cherry, a hint of grape, wonderful oak and oak spice, creamy vanilla, and warm toast. Palate: More spiced than the fruity nose suggests, but the apples are still present. Finish: Spiced and fruity, returning to vanilla. Slightly dry but long-lasting. I really appreciate this finish. It delivers a lot of flavor for its proof. 93/100

The aroma isn't overpowering, but it is sweet and oaky. The palate is wonderfully classic Buffalo Trace grapey sweetness. No harshness whatsoever; just sweet oak at the end. The finish is the highlight. It continues for a very long time... A fantastic pour. Consume this with a fresh palate, not after tasting other cask strength spirits.

Nose: Luxardo cherry Taste: sweet, honey, big bold flavor, savory Finish: dry oaky If I could get my hands on a bottle, I would buy it forever! I'm a fan of Weller Antique and Elijah Craig, but this is outstanding! Better than the Weller Antique, even coming from a Handy fan!!

Caramel popcorn, thick body, a subtle herbal finish that lasts indefinitely. So delicious

Really enjoyable and delicious. Its flavor profile is more sophisticated than the standard Eagle Rare.
