Deanston 2002 Organic Oloroso Cask Finish (16 Years Old)

Aroma: Rich, concentrated dried stone fruits, dark raisins, prunes, a hint of sweet leather, chocolate, and orange. Palate: Clean, fruity warmth, sweet dark raisins, prunes, a hint of dried sweet cherries, sweet spicy chocolate mole sauce, and ginger juice heat. Finish: Lingering ginger spice, sweet dark raisins, and the sweetness of dark apple/pear cider. Rating: 89/100 Concluding Thoughts: This was quite enjoyable, an outstanding sherried Scotch. It presents a fine harmony of dark stone fruits without being overly sickly sweet or having off-putting sulfur notes. It leans toward the sweeter end, perhaps more of a dessert drink, but is certainly tasty. Adding a small amount of water doesn't significantly alter the profile, but it does slightly temper the sweetness. Would I accept a drink if offered? - Yes Would I actively seek it out? - Perhaps Would I purchase a bottle? - If I found it in the $60-80 USD range
