The large mill on the banks of the Teith River in the southern Highlands was converted into Deanston distillery in 1964. Invergordon owned the distillery from 1972 to 1990, and it is now part of the Burn Stewart portfolio under Ian MacMillan's management. Despite being relatively new, Deanston has become well-regarded by blenders who value the malt's unique aromas and texture for their blends. Deanston 17 Year is a single malt bottling that was discontinued shortly after the distillery changed ownership and is now sought after by collectors, though it is increasingly difficult to find. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

Lighter color Aromas of floral, vanilla, and spice Neat: lots of spice, warmth in the mouth, lingering aftertaste. On the rocks: does not smooth out much on first tasting. Reduces the aftertaste maybe.
