Tumblin' Dice 11 Year Straight Bourbon

Drunk neat. Opened about a year ago. It's been a very long time since I last opened this bottle. The nose is surprisingly fruity and floral. Apples, apricots, and even oranges and lemons. Beneath the bright fruit and floral notes, the familiar MGP character begins to surface. Graham cracker, rye, lightly toasted caramel. The texture is nice, thick, and creamy. Apple and cinnamon on the palate, transitioning to the apricot and then back to the familiar MGP profile with rye and toasted caramel on the finish. The finish is somewhat lacking and even a bit tannic. I really liked this, but my experience with MGP has significantly grown since I first tried it. The fruit and floral notes are very interesting, but it's not an intense flavor experience, and the finish is merely adequate. The aftertaste is even a slight detractor. There are better MGP options available for the same cost.

Served neat. The aroma is rich with caramel and oak. Vanilla and cherry are present, along with a noticeable spice. It's an intriguing mix of contrasting notes, shifting from oak to caramel to vanilla to spice. There's a subtle hint of mint and possibly clove as you continue to experience it. The initial taste is surprisingly dark, featuring brown sugar, maple, and a touch of spice. This evolves into a hint of orange, followed by an intense vanilla flavor. The finish is predominantly vanilla with a whisper of pepper. It leaves substantial legs on the glass. A truly delightful experience!

Classic MGP on the nose, with added bananas. A nice touch of oak. On the palate, it's smooth, tasting like a rickhouse smells. A sharp wood note emerges, along with rye flavors. Pecan bits are present. The sweetness is balanced. The spice level seems close to kicking in but doesn't. Some spice lingers but it's not overpowering. Bananas reappear on the finish. 8/24/19

Abundant caramel and nougat with some burnt orange. The sweet finish features more caramel that is somewhat brief but delightful nonetheless.

Nose: Butterscotch and a light fennel. Palate: Oily, sweet vanilla and cinnamon spice. Finish: Mid-length spicy oak, very pleasant.
