Dalmore 5yo Cask Strength Independently bottled by Torsten Paul

Let's shatter the age stigma forever. Spoiler alert: I've awarded a perfect score to a 5-year-old whisky. Have you ever imagined tasting the essence of Dalmore? I recently had that experience. I was at an incredible bar in Edinburgh called "The Abbey" and noticed a distinctive bottle that looked like a Dalmore, but I wasn't sure until I got closer. Somehow, an individual named Torsten Paul had bottled a 59.9% ABV Dalmore with a 5-year age statement. He even created a unique label that appeared to be printed at home, featuring a strikingly stylized Stag crest. I thought to myself, "This can't go wrong." On the nose, there's a brief scent of new make spirit, followed by licorice, and then an explosion of an aroma that can only be described as fig liqueur. Brown sugar and cherry marmalade were fantastic, absolutely incredible. On the palate, this is one of the most delightful drams ever. It's intensely wine-like and buttery, like the core of cherry. The second sip revealed an amazing red fruit note. The finish continued to impress. A frenzy of red fruit, licorice, and many strong spices. A red chili bomb. The final sip... that was a great one. It tasted exactly like licking a sherry oak stave. Marvelous. Overall, it's perfect. I don't know Mr. Torsten Paul, but if we ever meet, I'll tell him he bottled something truly special. My friends, this is what whisky is. This is the intended experience of a single malt. I don't even want to brush my teeth. My score is 100 out of 100.
