At my in-laws' place. Couldn't refuse a glass without risking a conflict. Tasted neat. In the glass, it's a golden copper color with average coating legs. The nose is lightly floral with grain but little vanilla. BANG. There it is – vanilla and white sugar on the palate. Sweet, floral, slightly artificial/chemical, and thin. The finish is also short, with a slight rye tingle on the lips. I can see someone drinking too much of this, mistaking it for something less than 80 proof, whisky, or even alcohol. It should come with emergency flashers, but you can use the fabric bag to signal for help. Honestly, it's just sweet Canadian whisky, nothing more, nothing less. Were you expecting something else? If you're mixing it with soda pop, just consider skipping the soda and enjoying it as is – you won't notice the difference... unless you're pouring 10 oz highballs. Then, refer to the bag usage mentioned above. That's how my in-laws drink it, eh?

To me, this falls into the category of flavored spirits that taste like artificial chemicals. The vanilla flavor is present, but so are many other overpowering notes that made it undrinkable for me. I can see it pairing well with coke in small amounts, so it's not entirely without use, but the overwhelming sweetness gave me an immediate headache.

The aroma consists of alcohol, rye, and a hint of vanilla. The taste is rye and vanilla, with sweetness in the aftertaste. There's a mild alcohol burn going down. With ice: The aroma is vanilla. The taste is upfront vanilla with very weak rye. Very sweet! Would be excellent for mixing, but also great on its own.

A small bottle from Houston in February. You smell butter cookies, then butterscotch hits your tongue. It's almost excessively sweet, but I enjoy vanilla/marshmallow stouts, and Crown Vanilla isn't nearly as sugary. 😎

A Canadian blended grain spirit with artificial vanilla notes. It's decent when mixed with Coke, but drinking it straight yields an overpowering aroma and flavor of immature corn whisky. (Note: Packaged at 35% ABV for the U.S. market. 375ml container)

Extremely sweet but easy to sip. It's good with coke. Very smooth and has a mild spicy finish with very little bite. Excellent with a couple of ice cubes.
