Crown Royal Honey

Upon the initial taste at my home bar, I was struck by the sweetness of the 70 proof spirit. However, I was pleasantly surprised by a genuine honey flavor, not just a sugary sweetness. I initially rated it a 3 but the next day, while relaxing by the pool on a hot day, it was easily a 4 over ice. It's very light and refreshing in warm weather, especially for a whiskey. A unique blend I'm glad I tried.

This isn't my preference as it's too sweet for my liking and the alcohol content is low. It's a smooth, mellow spirit, well-crafted and priced well at about $30 USD for a 750ml bottle. Suitable for keeping for yourself, gifting, or sharing with companions! This is the most difficult to locate among the Crown Royal varieties. MAPLE ☆ APPLE ☆☆☆☆ VANILLA ☆☆☆☆ HONEY☆☆☆☆

Sweeter than I like, but it's a delicious, natural honey sweetness. It genuinely tastes like honey, not artificial. The honey flavor is perfectly balanced – not too much, not too little. It has the smooth whiskey character of the original, with a very clean honey finish. 3.5 stars.

Without ice: Smells like Crown Royal with honey. Tastes sweet, but not overly so. Has a similar texture to Crown, but the honey balances it. With ice: Smells of honey. Tastes sweet, but not overly so. Might be good with ginger ale.

Excessively sweet, with a strong honey presence; it doesn't blend well with the whisky's characteristics.
