Nose: Bready, caramelized fruit, slightly acetone Palate: Toasted/charred oak, banana bread, smoke/char, stout and dark beer Finish: Lightly smoked, long finish, stone & tropical fruit, burnt orange. There's a subtle BBQ note in the aftertaste. Slightly herbal. It has a substantial body with a light waxiness. The spirit is prominent. It leaves a slightly drying sensation on the finish. It's unusual to find such a refined and elegant whisky with minimal cask influence. This highlights the quality of the spirit compared to what seems to be a rather inactive cask.
