About this bottle

Chopin Family Reserve is crafted using estate-grown young potatoes from the 2016 harvest. Due to the low starch content of young potatoes, four times the quantity is used compared to the standard Potato Vodka. Following distillation, the vodka ages for two years in 50-year-old Polish oak. This limited edition was made available in spring 2019.

The barrel influence is quite noticeable, as is typical for vodka, but not overwhelming. The nose presents oak, black pepper, neutral spirit, potato, and a hint of greenery. The palate is slightly creamy and smooth, with mild oak, vanilla, and pepper. Some green herbs are mixed with pepper and vanilla on the finish. It's rich from start to finish. A rather delightful vodka.

Not much on the initial aroma, but it's a vodka! The taste, however, is unlike any vodka I've ever sampled. Sweet and peppery/spicy with subtle musty oak on the finish. Extremely distinct and sophisticated.

Thanks [reviewer name]. Tried neat. Neutral spirit, obviously. Not much to the nose, aka, neutral. It is very smooth, especially for a vodka, on the palate, but I like it.
