About this bottle
Highwood Distillers, located in High River, Alberta, primarily utilizes wheat for its whisky production and may be unique among major distilleries for not possessing a mill. Instead, they employ a method of cooking whole wheat until it expands like popcorn, exposing the internal starch. A significant flood in 2013 caused considerable damage to the distillery, though fortunately, the warehouses containing this Centennial whisky were unaffected.

A solid 89 out of 100. This whiskey is very smooth and features flavors of winter wheat with a subtle white pepper from the rye. There's also a touch of light honey. It's 100% Alberta distilled. My only desire is that it was bottled at around 46% ABV to enhance the flavor profile, but it remains an outstanding whiskey nonetheless.
Smooth and creamy, but lacking in flavor depth. Notes of light butterscotch, a subtle floral spice, citrus, and fresh oak. Forgettable. Price in Ontario is $28.
A solid whiskey, enjoyable for sipping and a fair value.
Excellent Canadian whisky.
