Centennial 10 Year

Nose: Gentle yet full sweet milk, yellow and green apples, lavender and lilac, lime zest, pine, a touch of mint, light sugared orange, faint popsicle stick wood, black tea with lemon, fresh rye grain and bread scents, a whisper of caramel, anise seed, school paste, dates, rye spice, bits of chili pepper, vegetal rye notes, vanilla, molasses, chocolate milk powder, sweet wood. Palate: Dry, subtle vanilla, caramel, a touch of toffee, caramel-covered ripe red apple, barrel tannins, oak/rye/pepper spice, peaches and cream, a hint of ripe cherry, light honey, a whisper of dark cocoa and mocha, a touch of powdered sugar. Finish: Abundant rye bread, a mix of ripe apples, aged and fruity oak, barrel tannins, a hint of vanilla

A solid 89 out of 100. This whiskey is very smooth and features flavors of winter wheat with a subtle white pepper from the rye. There's also a touch of light honey. It's 100% Alberta distilled. My only desire is that it was bottled at around 46% ABV to enhance the flavor profile, but it remains an outstanding whiskey nonetheless.

Smooth and creamy, but lacking in flavor depth. Notes of light butterscotch, a subtle floral spice, citrus, and fresh oak. Forgettable. Price in Ontario is $28.

A solid whiskey, enjoyable for sipping and a fair value.
