This is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Caol Ila, distilled on December 8, 2009. It was matured for 14 years in a single bourbon hogshead (cask 322862) and bottled on December 11, 2023, for the Cask Strength Collection by Signatory. Presented at cask strength (57.1% ABV), only 295 bottles were produced. Tasting notes from The Chaps at Master of Malt: Nose: Warming bonfire smoke, milk chocolate, grilled peaches, vanilla, oak spice, and lemon peel. Palate: Dried apricot, roasted nuts, sweet herbs, caramelised apples, and smoked barley. Finish: Fruity and smoky. This rating is provisional as I have not yet received it.
