My second Bunnahabhain from the distillery tasting was matured in an 11-year-old white wine hogshead, bottled at 57% ABV; I believe this bottling is quite uncommon. On the nose, it starts with coffee and caramel, and coffee with milk. Pineapple, as anticipated from the white wine maturation. Milk chocolate, orange peel. The milk chocolate is particularly notable after smelling it over a few sips. On the palate, it has an incredibly pleasant white Kit Kat note. Pineapple. A very enjoyable dram, with coconut and highly tropical profiles. Grapefruit. The aftertaste is a bit simple but acceptable. White chocolate and spices. Overall, this was certainly interesting. Tropical and very white chocolate are the dominant characteristics here. It was a fantastic experiment that I truly enjoyed; that said, it could definitely be improved with a more intricate aftertaste. My rating is 86 out of 100.
