Buffalo Trace introduced this wheated bourbon in 2013 as one of four releases in the thirteenth series of its Experimental Collection. This particular batch explored altering the barrel entry proof for their wheated bourbon, which is typically 114 proof for Buffalo Trace. All four bottlings underwent the same aging period of 11 years and seven months. The bourbon, crafted with their standard wheated mash bill, was distilled and placed in barrels in October 2001. It entered a #4 char barrel at 90 proof. Following a substantial 64% evaporation, the barrels were drained in June 2013 and bottled at 45% ABV.
