Nose: strong marshmallow, some raisin Palate: sweet coriander and raisin, caramel emerges, more sugar and slight mint. The staves contribute that sugary flavor which overwhelms the tannins in the finish. Still superior to standard BT.

About this bottle
Buffalo Trace's Experimental Collection includes this bourbon, released as part of a duo. It was created using Buffalo Trace mash recipe #1, distilled on October 26, 2009, and barreled the following day. The maturation barrels were constructed with staves seasoned for 48 months, a significant increase from the usual six months. This 9-year-old whiskey is offered alongside the 36-month version for comparative tasting, with availability beginning in late February 2019 in 375ml bottles.
