Rubbery taste. Lots of caramel and vanilla on the nose. Reminiscent of Japanese style.

About this bottle
Introduced in 2011 as the ninth release in Buffalo Trace's Experimental Collection, this bottling explored a modified bourbon mash bill. While bourbon must contain over 51% corn, the remaining percentage typically includes rye, wheat, and barley. This experiment replaced rye in BT Mash Bill #1 with rice, alongside at least 51% corn and some malted barley. Distilled in April 2002, this unique whiskey matured for nine years and five months in new, charred American oak. Twenty barrels were filled in October 2011, after 36.25% evaporation, at 45% ABV.
