Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection 1997 Double Barreled

About this bottle

Part of the seventh batch of Buffalo Trace's Experimental Collection, released in 2009, this bourbon was made with BT Rye Mash #2 and distilled and barreled in November 1997. Following slightly over four years in new, charred American oak, the whiskey was transferred in December 2001 to a completely new, charred American oak cask. Both barrels were charred to a #4 level. After a total aging period of eleven years and ten months, with 33% evaporation, the barrel was emptied in September 2009 and bottled at 45% ABV.
