About this bottle
This bourbon, part of the seventh batch of Buffalo Trace's Experimental Collection released in 2009, underwent a double barreling process. Made from BT Rye Mash #2, it was distilled and barreled in April 1994. After over seven years in new charred American oak, the spirit was transferred in December 2001 to a second, brand-new charred American oak cask. Both casks had a #4 char. The total aging period was sixteen years and five months, with 36% evaporation, before bottling at 45% ABV in September 2009.
