About this bottle

The Sixteens collection featured whiskies with diverse cask maturations, all naturally aged for 16 years. This specific bottling was aged for 16 years in casks that previously held Jim Beam Bourbon before being transferred to barrels that had contained Buffalo Trace Bourbon. The whisky is bottled at 46% ABV.

Rick Riley 3.5

The pastry-like aroma lacks a bit of intensity and subtlety, though it does show some salty hints. The palate is mainly salt and sea with a touch of golden fruit. The finish is quite long with lingering peat. This doesn't impress me much.

Terry Gustafson 4.3

The bourbon character is more apparent here than in any other Laddie I've sampled. That's not to say the Bruichladdich personality is absent; it's certainly present.

Marci Mejia 5.0

A strong initial impact from the 46% ABV, followed by a very smooth finish. Mildly peaty.

Lindsay Robert 5.0

Amazing. A smooth islay finish. Peat and bourbon combined make it incredible

Jaclyn Lankford 5.0

My top Islay scotch so far.
